Designed for athletes in the Learning to Train and Training to Train stages of CKC's Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, this program introduces young athletes to structured strength and conditioning in a fun, supportive, and developmentally appropriate environment.

Winter training is an important next step for young paddlers looking to continue their development beyond the summer season. Athletes will learn fundamental strength-training techniques, develop aerobic fitness, improve general athletic abilities, and establish consistent training habits that support long-term improvement.

This program is particularly well suited to developing U13–U14 athletes with aspirations of competing at the provincial level in 2027 and beyond, as well as multi-sport athletes looking to complement their other activities. No previous weight-room experience is necessary.

  • Program Fee: $350

  • Athlete Age Group: 2027 U13 or older (born 2014 or earlier)

  • Target Athletes: Developing competitive paddlers interested in progressing toward provincial-level competition, or athletes beginning their competitive sprint canoe/kayak journey. Also suitable for multi-sport athletes.

  • Commitment: 3 scheduled sessions per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 4:30–6:00 PM), with optional Tuesday morning swimming and Saturday aerobic training.

  • Program Dates: November 16, 2026 – May 1, 2027

Holiday Closures: The club will be closed December 22 – January 4 and March 14–21.
