Designed around the Training to Train and Learning to Competestages of CKC's Long Term Athlete Development plan, participants age 14 and up (as of January 1st of competition year) will be trained in singles and crew boats focusing on aerobic endurance, specific speed and strength development, nutrition, and goal setting. The program also incorporates water safety and pure enjoyment of sport and physical fitness. Participants will be given the opportunity to compete at divisional and provincial regattas. The full event schedule can be found in our parent information section. Over the course of six months, athletes will train from 6-12 sessions per week as prescribed by the CPCC Head Coach.
Carleton Place's High Performance programs reinforce important personal skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, time management, building self-confidence, and they teach the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle. All of Carleton Place's programs are led by friendly, dependable, knowledgeable and certified staff.
Please note that the Canoe Club will be closed on holidays, including Wednesday, July 1st and Monday, August 3rd.
To complete your registration:
You must be in good financial standing with the club, with no pre-existing membership, camp or race fees overdue at registration.
In order to secure your enrolment, you must provide the following, either online, at the CPCC office, or by attending a registration night at CPCC:
25% payment deposit of total program costs, payable online via the website, cheque, etransfer, or point of sale machine at the CPCC office (accepts interac and credit card)
$100 volunteer cheque postdated for August 31st OR $100 volunteer fee deposit (either returned, or destroyed the week of Sept 1stafter volunteer commitment is fulfilled)
Signed registration waiver(s), concussion code of conduct, & code of conduct (see website under Parent Info: Waivers & Forms)
Full payment must be made by April 20th, 2020
