YOUTH SPRINT RACING PROGRAMS

The Youth Sprint Racing Programs are designed for athletes aged 8–13 (as of January 1, 2026) and support healthy, age-appropriate development in sprint canoe and kayak. These programs provide young athletes with the opportunity to learn, grow, and stay active outdoors while progressing through the early stages of the sprint racing pathway.

CPCC offers a variety of age-group programs and program lengths to meet the needs of active youth with diverse backgrounds and experience levels. Our approach prioritizes long-term athlete development, emphasizing strong technical foundations, physical literacy, teamwork, and a positive relationship with sport. Athletes are supported as they build confidence, develop sound paddling skills, and learn how to train and race in a fun, encouraging environment.

Competition is introduced progressively and appropriately, with opportunities to race at local, divisional, and provincial regattas. Our ultimate goal is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle while helping athletes develop the skills, confidence, and teamwork needed to perform well both individually and as part of a crew.

PLEASE NOTE: the Canoe Club will be closed on holidays, including Wednesday, July 1st and Monday, August 3rd, 2026

AGE CATEGORIES:

• U10: AGES 8-9 (as of January 1st, 2026)
• U12: AGES 10-11 (as of January 1st, 2026)
• U14: AGES 12-13 (as of January 1st, 2026)

You must be in good financial standing with the club, and it's affiliates with no pre-existing membership, camp or race fees overdue at registration.
